Wedding Client FAQ

Why Siousca?

Photographers are currently a dime a dozen…there are two on every street corner but weeding out the professionals from the amateurs can be a pretty daunting task for anyone to take on.

Couples decide to book with us because they are looking for a professional who can talk with and relate to them, who will make  the experience fun and enjoyable, who will consistently provide beautiful imagery of some of the most important moments of their life.  They want someone real, someone who they can be friends with.  We are so incredibly passionate about what we do…I freaking love my job beyond words and honestly can’t think of anything I would rather be doing.  It is that passion, the experience we create and our images that I really think people gravitate towards and understand.

Are you available for international or domestic travel?

Most definitely! We are up for anything!  Drop us a line and we can discuss your plans. Pricing will vary depending on the destination but we love to travel and may even offer a bit of a discount if you’re headed somewhere really cool.;)

How would you describe your approach?

We are definitely drawn to the editorial and photojournalistic styles of wedding photography.  We want our images to feel as natural and true to the moment as possible.  There are times where the light might not be quite right or the background is a bit cluttered and we may ask you to move to a better location…but we will not create events or fake moments.

What do you ask of your couples?

Honestly, not much other than to just be yourselves and to show the uninhibited love that you share for each other. We know that can be a bit strange with huge cameras hanging around but we can’t capture those magical once in a lifetime moments if you hold them back. Let them out and I promise they won’t be missed.

What are a few words you would use to describe your ideal client?

Creative, Artistic, Passionate, Outdoorsy, Motivated, Outgoing.

What equipment do you use?

Short answer – We only use the highest quality Canon cameras and lenses. We have a backup of everything we use so that we are covered even in the event of a technological camera emergency.:)

Long Answer – Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 5D Mark II , Sigma 15mm f2.8 Fisheye, Canon 24mm f1.4L, Canon 35mm f1.4L, Canon 50mm 1.2L, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Canon 135mm f2L, Canon 580exII, Canon 430exII

Film: We also shoot some film in conjunction with digital. We are currently using a Leica M4, Mamiya 6, Canon 1N, Hasselblad 500c, and a Mamiya 645AFD for all analog work.

What type of albums do you offer?

We provide a variety of flush mount album options in both handcrafted leather or linen bindings using only high quality archival photographic paper. They are pretty awesome, (if I must say so myself). Sometimes we have a hard time sending them off to our customers:)There are a few images along with more infomation on our albums in the Album Info section.

How many images can I expect, and when should I receive them?

Honestly, every wedding is a bit different but we consistently deliver between 400 and 800 retouched images from each event.  The full proofing gallery of all your final images will be available for viewing within 4-6 weeks.

How do we go about booking you?

We ask for a $1,000.00 retainer to reserve the date, after that it’s all good in the hood.  The remainder of the balance is due two weeks prior to the event.
